Our Mission
At Gaia Gardening we believe in working with nature and rewriting horticulture planting standards. With an ecology first mind set we will help you create a garden that is both beautiful and productive for nature.
Why Ecology first?
Habitat loss is the number one reason our ecosystems are struggling. Loss of native plant resources and safe space to live have pushed out natural life from land to sky, plant to animal. We believe that adding nature back into our gardens helping create not only safe places for nature to thrive but also create “high ways” to natural spaces that are preserved. With unmanaged green spaces, over run with non-native plants, ecosystems cannot thrive with out our help. Gaia Gardening has made it their mission to create ecosystems where they can.
More Than One Benefit
Not only does natural landscaping help with creating lost ecosystems, there are benefits for your wallet. Native plants, once established, require less maintenance and water. They assist in water mitigation due to their deep root systems. Planting native gardens in stead of lawns means less watering and mowing services, and more time for you to stop and smell the flowers.
Healthy ecosystems means healthy plants. When offering a diverse plant life ecosystems have the ability to “clean” and balance themselves. Predator insects eat other insects that cause damage or spread disease. Inviting birds into the yard has the same effect! Less fretting for you and more food for the critters around you!
